Who am I?

I am the father of three grown kids and have been happily married for the past 31 years.  I am a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick NJ with a degree in Business Administration.  I enjoyed a long career with Deluxe Check Printers, 12 of those years as the Baltimore Plant Manager.  Deluxe is a Fortune Five Hundred Company whose commitment to its customers led to its being referenced in the Books "In Search of Excellence" and "Service America."  This commitment to excellence and service has been a major influence in my business philosophy.

Why choose Steve Reim and The Bear Realty?

As a plant manager one of my responsibilities included the overseeing the relocation of those transferring into and out of the Baltimore area.  I have also bought and sold three personal residencies and acted as the general contractor on the building of another.  Without question, our home purchases have been our best investments.  Having relocated three times myself, I know the importance of having assistance in finding the right location within a community and getting recommendations for quality services.

Before launching The Bear Realty, I was affiliated for nearly three years with a local office of a worldwide real estate company here in town.  My starting The Bear Realty has mostly to do with my belief that an agent can not fully and effectively serve both the buyer and seller in the same transaction!

I pledge that The Bear Realty will not represent both parties to a transaction and I will give you my full attention.

Community Activities

Sports and community involvement have also played a major role in our lives.  As the kids were growing up I coached youth basketball for 12 years, baseball and a year of football, while Sue coached field hockey and lacrosse.  Although my wife Sue would say I have always been, I say that now I am an avid golfer.

New Bern, a community to become a part of, not just exist in!

During the summer we are a host family for a player on New Bern's River Rats, a Coastal Plains League baseball team.  The league is a collegiate summer league, featuring top-notched college players from throughout the nation.   Mike Antonini, our first player hosted, was drafted by the Philly's last year.  He was also recently named D-II preseaon All American.  Our second player, Jordan Costner, is now the set up man for the nationally ranked South Carolina Gamecocks.  It's a ton of fun going to the games and seeing players from around the country honing their skills for a shot at the big time.
Sue and I are active members of New Song United Methodist Church.  At New Song, I am a lay member to the annual conference and serve on the Lead Team (Church Council) and Staff Support (Pastor-Parish Relations) committees.  Sue coordinates the Missions Team at New Song.  During 2006 we led 3 disaster relief teams to the Gulf Coast.  One trip to Biloxi and two trips to New Orleans.  There is so much to be done down there, yet you end up getting so much more in return then you could ever give of yourself.

The Kids!
Our oldest daughter, Jill, survived Katrina and still lives in New Orleans where she is an Art Director for the largest advertising agency in the city.  This April she married  Tony Norman in a good ol' NOLA ceremony on the front steps of an old mansion with the reception in the gardens in the back.
Katie, our middle child, is a graduate of the University of Delaware, as is Jill.  She is a free lance illustrator and you can check out her work on her website at www.KatieReim.com.
Our youngest is David and he is loving life at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  Now what's not to like about that?
